30 July 2020 Ottawa- On behalf of the Undergraduates of Canadian Research-Intensive Universities and 250 000 undergraduate students, we would like to express our concerns regarding the Canada Student Services Grant (CSSG). Being that WE Charity is no longer administering the CSSG, UCRU is concerned about the $912 million allocated for student support in the midst of COVID-19. Affordability is a major concern for students during this global pandemic. UCRU is calling on the Government of Canada to ensure that the $912 million is utilized to support students, particularly through the Canada Student Grants program.

We appreciate your consideration and your continued support for students during this time.

Sincerely,

Mackenzy Metcalfe Kristin Smith

UCRU Chair UCRU Vice-Chair
